School Dinners

The school is fortunate in having a purpose-built kitchen on site which prepares our own delicious and nutritious cooked meals. The children are supervised by the teaching staff and lunchtime midday supervisors.

The cost of a school lunch is currently £2.30 per day/£11.50 per week and provides fantastic value.

All children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 are entitled to free lunches as part of the Government's Universal Infant Free School Meal policy. For some of these children, the school will also be able to claim Pupil Premium, which will help provide further support by making sure that the school receives all the Government funding to which it is entitled. The criteria for eligibility is the same as the free school meal criteria for Key Stage 2 detailed below.  To apply, please complete a form available from either the school office or by clicking here or calling 01473 260989.

Payment for school meals can be made on line using the link below. Cash or cheques, made payable to Suffolk County Council, are also accepted. Half-term or weekly payments can be made but if paying weekly,  they must be sent or brought into school on Monday morning.  If your child is absent, meals will be credited to you.

A Government scheme provides free snacks for all Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children, each day of the week. The children are provided with one of the following: apple, carrot, raisins, strawberries, pear, tangerine, banana, tomato, cucumber.

If older children wish to bring a snack to school, please ensure that it too, is one of the above. We support healthy eating and encourage all our children to eat five pieces of fruit and/or vegetable each day. We also encourage the children to drink plenty of water during the day. Please note that if your child has packed lunch and wishes to bring their own drink, only water is permitted.
